Description

Job Summary
The Regional Mentor oversees and manages the therapist of all designated facilities by: Visiting facility and making contact with the BOM, Administrator, and the DON. Being aware of open positions, the condition of the systems in place, general ability of staff to perform and manage buildings.

The Regional Mentor contributes to the accomplishment of Regional Mentor practices and objectives that will provide a high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, and goal attainment.  

Essential Functions

  • Recruiting, interviewing staff for building with region, should at least meet the potential therapist.
  • Orientation of the new staff; continuing education for present staff
  • Input, involvement, and monitoring staffing, continually striving for 85% or better productivity.
  • Marketing activities/in-services, potential start-up of new facilities.
  • Trouble shooting and reorganizing target facilities; review “Hot List” facilities.
  • Crisis control for each facility; meet with and follow up with RCC, DON, Administrator, and Rehab Staff on any challenges and resolve problems.
  • Disciplinary actions when necessary, providing verbal counseling/written warnings accordingly for awareness and acknowledgement of any concerns by both parties (Regional Mentor and Staff member).
  • Completion of annual performance reviews for staff.
  • Quality assurance visits: focus on PPS utilization, chart review, overtime utilization on a daily basis, RUGs, Rehab Optima, and content of documentation, appropriate utilization for Medicare Part B’s.
  • Facility review completed by mid-month.
  • FQR and Medicare audits completed annually for each facility.
  • Emergency “fill in” for staff.
  • Assisting with EOM billing; being proficient in PPS.
  • Presenting “new ideas” to improve the business, if possible.
  • Maintain a proactive attitude.
  • Constant communication, via email and phone with facilities, staff, administrators, and superiors.
  • Ongoing quarterly and monthly Planning and meetings with pertinent staff.
  • Maintain working relations with supervisor. Accept and perform routine and non-routine assignments agreeably: accepts and acts upon constructive feedback.
  • Must comply with company rules, policies and procedures
  • Must comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  1. Licensed as a Physical Therapist, Speech-Language Pathologist, or Occupational Therapist for the State of California.
  2. Must have a valid CPR certification
  3. Must have a completed physical examination from a licensed physician.
  4. Must have a negative TB skin test within the past year OR a clear Chest X-ray within the past five years.

To perform the Regional Mentor job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.   • Minimum of two years working experience in respective field.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
  • Travel when required.
  • Must be able to gather, analyze information timely and skillfully.
